Review: 11' Genesis 2-6

August 29, 2016

I would like to take a minute to write a quick review of the 11' 2-6 ounce ODM Genesis that I have paired up with a Stella 10k. I have been exclusively fishing this rod for all plugging applications this season. It has been used on beaches for bass and blues and really put to the test at the Cape Cod Canal.
I have used the entire 2-6 range throwing everything from Sp minnows, live eels, pencils, stick shads, magic swimmers and even some light jigging. The rod is sooooo thin and lightweight, yet has tremendous backbone to turn big fish in big water. It has handled everything I have attempted to throw with ease with incredible casting distance. The lighter weight along with the loading action of the rod and the way the rod fights fish created less fatigue for me on longer trips which always equals longer sessions.
The rod has excelled in every application presented it and is an absolute pleasure to fish. I thought this rod might have hooked my canal PB last week........but it turned out to be a 33# striped bass with both my magic swimmer treble hooks burried in its belly.
If anyone has any questions or would like to cast any of my ODM rods......please let me know and stay tuned for more of my experiences with ODM and The Jigster! Tight Lines!" - Colby
